Think back to your own family photographs. What images exist of when you were a baby? When your parents were babies? Your own children? Depending on your age, you might have a couple of fuzzy little black and white prints with a year scrawled on the back in Mum's handwriting, a handful of early colour images (including that naked-in-the-bath shot that everyone has), or a series of pictures of a baby in a bucket wearing nothing but a flower.


Do these really reflect what life was like at the beginning, when everything was new and special, and parents were doting over their child's every need?
